Miss Illinois County Fair 2013, Amelia Martens
The reigning Miss Illinois County Fair Queen is Amelia Martens of Orion. She represented Rock Island County Fair at the annual pageant held during the 103rd Illinois Association of Agricultural Fairs convention in January. As the 54th Miss Illinois County Fair Queen, Martens will be the official hostess of the Illinois and DuQuion State Fairs. She will also travel throughout the state this summer to promote county fairs and the state fairs.
Amelia is the daughter of Patrick and Annette Martens. She is a 2013 graduate of the University of Illinois majoring in Agricultural Communications. Miss Martens plans to work in communications for an agricultural company.
Miss Martens is a student researcher for John Deere Technology Innovation Center and is a JBT Communications Intern. She was Valedictorian for her graduating class at Orion High School and the National Winner in FFA Agricultural Communications Proficiency Area. Amelia enjoys being outdoors, running, exercising and writing.
